Astral Travel
According to Occult, Theosophical, and New Age traditions, traveling outside one's physical body, or going somewhere in spirit only. It is an out-of-the-body experience achieved by any number of trance-inducing methods or imagination techniques; the separation of the consciousness from the physical body resulting in an altered state of consciousness.
In astral travel one leaves the physical body and goes anywhere using the astral body. While traveling in the astral plane the astral body remains attached to the physical body by an ethereal silver colored "umbilical type" cord.
It is said that astral travel, which involves the conscious separation of the astral body from the physical body, can be achieved through different techniques, including meditation, trance and imagination.
