Bodywork
Any of a number of
healing techniques or therapies involving hands-on massage, physical
regimens and/or manual treatment of the body.
Practices include massage, deep tissue manipulation,
acupressure, energy work, movement awareness, energy balancing, structural
work and other therapies to induce relaxation, increase circulation, treat
pain and stiffness, and to break up chronic patterns of muscular tension.
Bodywork in all its forms helps to reduce pain, soothe
injured muscles, stimulate blood and lymphatic circulation, and promotes deep
relaxation.
